Summary of Client:
Our client is a leading supplier of flat rolled, hot rolled, and hot dipped carbon steel products to the U.S. Marketplace,
including galvanneal, galvalume, galfan and enameling steel. Currently, this company has a strong presence in
automotive OEM in the Southeast, and are actively expanding their non-automotive business in the Texas market, where
they recently opened a new facility on the Steel Dynamics campus. The client values a supportive company culture and
seeks long-term, contractual business relationships. The Director of Sales will vital to this expansion.
Summary of Position:
The client is seeking a Director of Sales for the Texas region. This critical leadership role will direct and manage all sales,
marketing, and business development operations to achieve the company's growth and profitability goals. The ideal
candidate will be a seasoned sales professional with strong leadership capabilities, deep expertise in flat rolled carbon
steel, and established contacts within the Texas market.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all sales, marketing, and business development operations, including market competitiveness,
- pricing, compensation, and distribution strategy.
- Drive the company's achievement of its growth and profitability goals.
- Oversee the development of the sales organization for the assigned Texas region.
- Drive the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies.
- Hire, train, manage, and develop the sales force and supporting administrative staff (initially two existing reps, with
- potential for additional hires).
- Benchmark pricing data and develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions.
- Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer
- base in Texas, particularly in non-automotive sectors (HVAC, appliance, solar, electrical enclosures).
- Manage the overall sales process and set appropriate metrics for sales management.
- Ensure the team focuses on securing contractual blanket orders and quarterly agreements.
- Work directly on or around motor vehicle equipment.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related area of study.
- At least seven years of sales and marketing experience in the flat rolled carbon steel industry (24-gauge to quarter-inch products).
- Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Established contacts and relationships within comparable industries, specifically in the Texas market.
- Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive-level customers and
- partners.
- Strong leadership qualities, with a preference for candidates who have prior sales leadership experience or
- demonstrated readiness to take on a leadership role.
- Ability to travel frequently within the Texas region.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $135,000 - $200,000+ (flexible up to $250,000 for exceptional candidates).
- Bonus Structure: Competitive performance-based bonus.
- Work Arrangement: Flexible location within the Texas "triplex" (San Antonio, Houston, Dallas); significant travel
- required.
