American Dream Search is working with a premier flat rolled steel service center on a key succession planning VP of Sales & Purchasing opportunity. In this role, you will be a member of a 5 person management team and Oversee $90MM in annual revenue of specialty flat rolled steel products (tinplate, galvanized, cold rolled, pre-painted) to ensure profitability, customer satisfaction, and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Member of 5 person management team for family-owned flat roll steel service center
• Along with EVP and Director of Operations, you will oversee the company's Illinois facility, including 115,000 SF of warehouse space, 6 processing lines and 40 people
• Manage North America sales team of 5 outside sales and 3 inside sales; coordinate with Building Products sales team (3 people)
• Maintain relationships with decision makers at key customers and suppliers
• Develop sales, purchasing, marketing, and growth plans to improve our business
• Maintain effective supply chain, including material on order, logistics, 10,000 tons of inventory, and material processing
• Work closely with other teams including the Maryland warehouse, international sales, purchasing, logistics, and accounting
• Report directly to President and CEO

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in the steel industry (ideally flat rolled steel)
• Proven sales leader and ability to lead a sales team
• Deep understanding of global trade and supply chains
• Familiarity with using key sales tools, including CRM and ERP systems
• Ability to travel to customers in USA and Canada, as well as to global suppliers
• In office 5 days a week (no remote work) at New Lenox, IL office
• Experience with metal trading and/or metal service centers a plus

Compensation:

• $200,000 salary, with annual bonus based on performance
